This ongoing photo project is dedicated to the directors of Frankfurt’s museums – the people who shape the cultural life of the city with their work.
The portraits are taken directly in the offices of the museum directors – in the places where curatorial concepts are developed, strategic decisions are made and new exhibitions are conceived. Each of these spaces is an expression of individual working methods and personalities – and is consciously included in the composition of the images. The project is in continuous development and will continue to grow over the coming years. The aim is to create a multi-layered, long-term portrait of Frankfurt’s museum landscape – through the faces, stories and working environments of its leading personalities. With this series, I want to make the people behind the institutions visible – beyond official staging, approachable and authentic.
